About Karl Jacob
Karl Jacob spent most of his adult life trying to lose weight the way everyone told him to — counting calories, cutting portions, pushing through exercise programs. It didn't work. In 2011, a health wake-up call revealed dangerously elevated insulin levels and a high risk for type 2 diabetes.
Determined to change course, he spent four years studying peer-reviewed research and experimenting with practical strategies that real people can follow in everyday life. He lost 80 pounds. He has kept them off for over a decade.
He wrote Fix Your Insulin to share what he learned with anyone still trapped in the cycle of diets that don't last — backed by the science he wishes he'd had access to from the beginning.
Karl Jacob is a pen name. The author writes under this name to keep the focus on the ideas, not the individual.
